Zheng Guan (Direct Officer)

bazi · term · BaZi · Ten Gods · Zheng Guan

Definition

Direct Officer controls the Day Master with opposite yin/yang. Examples: Jia day seeing Xin; Yi day seeing Geng. Versus Seven Killings, temperament leans more toward “upright, stable, title and institution.”

How to identify

Controls-me + opposite polarity. When Officer is clear, Resource protects it, and the body can bear it, tradition more readily discusses rank and career; mixed Officers or Hurting Officer seeing Officer are discussed separately.

Lookup table: Ten Gods Matrix. Overview: Ten Gods.

Common imagery

  • Rules, institutions, office, and social evaluation.
  • Self-restraint, responsibility, identification with order.
  • With Wealth: Wealth generates Officer—resources convert into status/responsibility.
  • With Resource: Officer–Resource mutual generation—often a “supported normative path.”

Boundaries of use

Strong Direct Officer does not mean one will hold office. In modern contexts it more often maps to compliance roles, management duties, and external constraint structures.

Stem palace (year/month/day/hour), rooting depth, and overlays with Decade Luck and annual pillars all change weight. Never decide from the Ten Gods name alone.
