Natal Chart Reading Order

Recommended order

1. Lock technical options

Confirm the zodiac, house system, and time zone used in chart casting; do not force conclusions across incomparable charts.

2. Sun / Ascendant / Moon

• Sun: core will and vitality themes (sign + house + aspects)
• Ascendant: outward orientation and life approach
• Moon: emotional needs and habitual security

Their relationships (e.g. Moon–Ascendant square or opposition) often form the main personality tension axis.

3. Dominant planets and elemental balance

Note fire/earth/air/water and cardinal/fixed/mutable emphasis, plus planets in angular houses.

4. Aspect structure

Start with the major aspect web, then recurring themes (e.g. Venus patterns, Saturn pressure). Aspect entries are in the directory.

5. House topics

Map the question to houses 1–12: career via the 10th and Sun/Saturn, relationships via the 7th and Venus, etc. — still return to planetary nature; avoid house-label stereotypes.

6. Timing (if needed)

When transit/progression algorithms are not covered here, at least state: do not fine-tune timing before the natal structure is clear. Detailed timing rules can live in separate method pages.

7. Boundaries

• Without exact birth time: Ascendant and houses are unusable; discuss only sign placements, day/night chart, and other limited layers.
• Overly wide orbs add noise to the aspect web; fix and publish an orb table.
