Monthly Orders and Festivals
What is the Monthly Order?
The moon order in Ziping's discussion takes the month of birth as an important reference, and often uses the moon branches to discuss the seasons, seasonal qi and conditions. It is not just the serial number of "month", nor is it equal to the month column Heavenly Stems. The moon pillar of Yin month in year A is Bing Yin, the monthly branch is Yin, and the moon stem is C. Just because C is 食神, we cannot directly say that the moon order must be 食神.
Festival months are different from lunar months. The Yin month starts from the Beginning of Spring Festival to before the awakening of insects, while the first month of the lunar calendar starts with the first day of the new moon. The boundaries between the two may be staggered. You must first calculate which festival and month your birth occurred before discussing the month order.
Why is the Moon Order important in traditional theory?
Traditional theories relate the five elements to the four seasons, and use the order of the month as an important basis for success or failure. The "season" here belongs to the traditional symbolic framework and cannot be directly replaced by the temperature of a person's birthplace on that day: the Yin month does not automatically turn into the Zi month when there is a cold wave; whether the seasons in the southern hemisphere change, the genre and algorithm must be clearly defined, and it should not be reversed without declaration.
The four layers of information must be separated
| level | questions to answer | Yin month regulations |
|---|---|---|
| festivals | between which two sections | From the Beginning of Spring to the Waking of Insects |
| monthly branch | Which branch corresponds to the festival? | Yin |
| Tibetan stems | What are the static tables in this library? | A, C, E |
| Commander | Whether a text is segmented by the number of days after the intersection | Please check the schedule and version separately |
The four words principal qi, thorough, commander, and Yongshen cannot be regarded as the same thing. The monthly branch contains more than one stem. How to deal with the exposure and convergence of the case requires detailed analysis in each text.
Step-by-step case: Jia Sun Yin Yue
The first step is to store A, B and W in Yinzhong according to the common table, which are 比肩, 食神, and 偏财. In the second step, the season and root energy of the Jia wood in the Yin month can be used as the basis for judging the prosperity and decline. In the third step, if the monthly stem is C, record 食神; this is not mutually exclusive with "monthly branch principal qiA". The fourth step is to use the Moon Order to determine the grid. It is necessary to continue to explain the processing of Bi Jie Yue and the text it is based on. You cannot jump from a certain point to the final grid name immediately.
When it is changed to Jia day and You month, the Youzang Xin is 正官, and the structure is easier to identify, but it still needs to be analyzed whether the Xin is revealed and how other branches and stems cooperate. Being easy to name does not mean that it is easy to judge whether the reality is good or bad.
Common misunderstandings
- Use the birthday month of the lunar calendar to directly take the month order, omitting the intersection.
- Only look at the moon stem to name the moon orders, omitting the moon branches and Tibetan stems.
- Interpret "in due course" to mean that the other five elements are completely absent or have lost their function.
- Put all Earthly Branches into a fixed 30-day ratio without specifying the commander's table.
