Tian Fu
Definition
Tian Fu is one of the fourteen major stars. Treasury star; often linked to steady holding, resources, and management.
Placement and brightness
Palace placement follows relative Zi Wei / Tian Fu positions in Charting Method. The same star has temple/prosperous/beneficial/fallen brightness by Earthly Branch: brightness changes how smoothly it expresses, not the star’s basic nature.
Reading by palace
First see which Twelve Palace it enters, then overlay co-palace major/auxiliary stars:
- In Life: steady, with a treasury to hold; drive depends on co-palace stars
- With Zi Wei co-court: “emperor seat has a treasury”
- Rarely self-transforms as Ji; weight falls on holding pressure when other Ji share the palace
Si Hua
Whether this star transforms as Lu/Quan/Ke/Ji depends on the year stem (and Decade/annual stems). Check Si Hua Table; algorithm: Si Hua method. With no Si Hua, still lead with star nature + palace + brightness.
Common combination tips
- Prefer combination reading over single-star reading when with related stars in the same or opposing palace.
- Sha stars (Qing Yang, Tuo Luo, Huo Xing, Ling Xing, etc.) co-palace: sharpen edge or volatility — check whether Chang/Qu/Fu/Bi soften it.
- Reading flow: Zi Wei Reading Order.
Boundaries of use
- Do not conclude “must be noble” or “must meet disaster” from one star.
- Traditional body imagery is cultural symbolism only — not diagnosis.
- When school star-nature maxims conflict, follow the declared version and lower confidence.
