Chart Deduction and Reading Order

Purpose

Provide a repeatable deduction pipeline so conclusions are not drawn from a single annual character or a lone Ten-God name.

Recommended order

1. Fix the chart face

Complete Four-Pillar Charting; record rule options (true solar time, Zi hour, solar-term source). List four pillars, Day Master, Ten Gods, and needed hidden stems.

Layer question: Is the chart verifiable? Are borderline rules written clearly?

2. Structure scan

Observe:

  • Month command (in-season Five Element / Ten God)
  • Rough Day Master strength (rooting, support, control/drain/consume)
  • Whether Wealth, Officer, Resource, Eating God forces are barren or piled up
  • Clear clashes, combinations, punishments, harms

Layer question: Is the chart’s main tension weak body with much Wealth, heavy Killings, heavy Resource, or another structure?

3. Orientation (Useful God layer)

Under a declared school, give a working hypothesis for support/restrain, climate adjust, or other orientation (see Useful God). This step may use confidence: medium and must be testable by later luck layers.

Layer question: What is favored, what is opposed? On what basis?

4. Luck-cycle background

Use Deriving Luck Cycles to fix the current decade’s stem–branch; see whether luck deepens or eases the tension.

Layer question: What is this decade’s main theme?

5. Annual event layer

Take the annual stem–branch and form imagery with natal chart plus luck cycle. First weigh clash/control/generate/combine against Day Master and Useful-God orientation, then drop into concrete life themes (still symbolic, not a prophecy checklist).

Layer question: Which structural line does this year amplify?

6. Write-back and boundaries

  • When multiple hypotheses coexist, list them; do not silently drop any.
  • Missing birth time: discuss only what year/month/day can support, and state that the hour pillar is unknown.
  • Do not treat a single spirit star or single Ten God as a sufficient condition.

Relation to one-question methods

BaZi excels at long-term structure and staged background; concrete “one-matter luck” can divide labor with Liu Yao, Tarot, and similar methods rather than replace them.
